An Invitation to Participate Circle Ten Council, Boy Scouts of America, invites you to participate in the fourteenth annual Sporting Clays Tournament. The event will take place at one of the premier full service shooting facilities in the DFW area—The Elm Fork Shooting Park.
The funds generated directly benefit the Scouting programs in the area including - Scoutreach.
The Scoutreach program targets youth in distressed areas of north central Texas and southern Oklahoma where they have many chances to fail and few opportunities to succeed. Single parent families often headed by mothers and grandmothers, unemployment, a pattern of alcohol and drug abuse, and family income below the poverty line make it difficult for traditional Scouting to reach youth in these neighborhoods.
Through Scoutreach, Program Managers employed by the Council in conjunction with community partners, offer a unique Scouting experience where resources are scarce and parental involvement is limited. Scouts enjoy a program centered on advancement, camping, and life skills development. In 2009, approximately 7,545 Scouts participate and belonged to one of the 148 units under the direction of trained Program Managers.
Through your participation in the 2010 Sporting Clays Tournament, Scouting’s time-tested programs will meet the needs of all Scouting families.
